Artist reflections on WAVELENGTH

Group of five people standing on a beach with bright blue sky behind them, all wearing white tops, white visors and holding large white tubes

Held in May 2025 among the sand dunes of North Beach Great Yarmouth, this unique outdoor arts experience invited local families to listen, move, play, and make noise together amongst the elements.

Created by six artists, WAVELENGTH celebrated children’s innate creativity through movement, sound, and sensory exploration.

At Magic Acorns, we approach artist development as a playful, evolving process. We support early years artists and practitioners by creating open, welcoming spaces that encourage experimentation, connection, and creative growth.

The artist team brought a rich mix of disciplines – including a spoken word poet, a tattoo artist, and a SEND drama workshop leader. For some, it was their first time working with very young children, offering a valuable opportunity to develop their practice in early years arts.
