Residencies

Spaces where new connections are made and experimental work is created.

What are residencies?

We host residencies that bring together creative practitioners with babies, toddlers, and their caregivers in playful, experimental encounters.

These residencies are designed to support artists in exploring new ideas, testing emerging techniques, and expanding their practice across artforms. At the same time, they offer meaningful paid opportunities, ongoing mentoring, and a space to reflect and grow within a responsive and supportive community.

Residencies are central to our work and focus on shaping what early years arts can be.

We encourage a spirit of openness and curiosity, where artists can co-create high-quality aesthetic experiences with, and for, children.

We particularly welcome artists living or working in Great Yarmouth and the surrounding area, as we are committed to nurturing homegrown talent and strengthening creative networks within our local community.

PAST RESIDENCIES

WAVELENGTH, Spring 2025

A work-in-progress performance for children under 3 and their families. Held among the sand dunes of North Beach, this unique outdoor arts experience invited artists and babies to listen, move, play, and make noise together amongst the elements.

The Nest, Autumn 2023

The Nest residency brought together lead and nurtured artists to play and develop interactive performance pieces. Three events were developed: The Beach, Tiny Promenade, and The Sensory Space.

In-Between Spaces, Spring 2021

A series of immersive family sessions held inside PRIMEYARC, a former department store turned gallery in Great Yarmouth. Designed for under 3s, the project transformed the vast, empty shop floor into a multi-sensory world of light, shadow, sound, and movement.
